Day 1: Antigua, Guatemala

Welcome to Antigua, a UNESCO-listed colonial city ringed by volcanoes. Group welcome meeting in the evening.

Free time to explore the cobblestone streets, pastel churches and optional chocolate-making workshop at ChocoMuseo.

Day 2: Antigua → Cerro Verde, El Salvador

Meals: Breakfast

Early border crossing into El Salvador. Scenic drive to Cerro Verde National Park with an informal Spanish lesson en route.

Day 3: Cerro Verde

Full day at leisure. Optional volcano crater hikes, swim in pristine Coatepeque Lake, or relax by the hot springs.

Evening pupusa cooking demonstration — learn to make El Salvador's iconic stuffed corn cake.

Day 4: Cerro Verde → San Miguel

Travel through the Salvadoran capital to San Miguel, a vibrant town nestled beneath an active volcano.

Day 5: San Miguel → Leon, Nicaragua via Honduras

Cross two borders — through Honduras and into Nicaragua. Arrive in Leon, Nicaragua's artsy intellectual capital.

Day 6: Leon → Granada

Leader-led orientation walk in Leon, then travel to Granada — Nicaragua's colourful colonial gem on the shores of Lake Nicaragua.

Day 7: Granada

Meals: Breakfast

Breakfast at Cafe de las Sonrisas — a local café run entirely by deaf people; a social enterprise bridging the gap for people living with disabilities.

Free time for optional volcano hikes, kayaking on Las Isletas or exploring Granada's streets.

Day 8: Granada → Ometepe Island

Ferry across Lake Nicaragua — Central America's largest freshwater lake — to the volcanic Ometepe Island, formed by two towering volcanoes.

Day 9: Ometepe Island

Leisure day. Optional hikes up Concepcion or Maderas volcanoes, wildlife-rich rainforest walks and black sand beaches.

Cooking class in Los Ramos Community — learn traditional techniques to make Nicaraguan nacatamales.

Day 10: Ometepe → San Juan del Sur

Travel to laid-back coastal surf town San Juan del Sur on Nicaragua's Pacific coast.

Day 11: San Juan del Sur

Free day for beach exploration. Optional visit to nearby turtle nesting sites, surf lessons or simply kick back by the bay.

Day 12: San Juan del Sur → Monteverde, Costa Rica

Cross into Costa Rica. Journey to the world-renowned Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Preserve.

Day 13: Monteverde

Leader-led orientation walk. Free day for optional zip-lining, hanging suspension bridges, cloud forest hikes or wildlife viewing — home to 2,000+ plant species and the resplendent quetzal.

Day 14: Monteverde → La Fortuna

Scenic minibus and boat journey across Lake Arenal to La Fortuna, the town at the foot of the iconic cone-shaped Arenal Volcano.

Day 15: La Fortuna

Optional activities galore — La Fortuna Waterfall, volcano hikes, white-water rafting or the famous thermal hot springs.

Day 16: La Fortuna → San Jose

Travel to Costa Rica's capital, San Jose. Leader-led orientation walk of museums, markets and cathedrals.

Day 17: San Jose Departure

Trip ends in San Jose. Free departure any time — extend your stay or head home with memories of five Central American countries.
