Arrive in Reykjavik for a group briefing and gear check. In the evening, head out on your first aurora hunt through the city's outskirts where light pollution fades and the sky comes alive.
Drive into the highlands to Landmannalaugar. Explore the colourful rhyolite mountains painted in reds, yellows and greens. Soak in natural hot springs surrounded by lava fields before an evening aurora session.
Trek through dramatic obsidian fields and past hissing steam vents. The landscape here is otherworldly — black volcanic glass contrasts with bright green moss and steaming fumaroles. Camp in the highland wilderness.
Continue trekking through valleys with river crossings and sweeping highland vistas. As night falls, settle into camp and watch for the northern lights dancing across the sky — far from any artificial light.
Final trek into the lush Þórsmörk valley, surrounded by glaciers and birch forests. Transfer back to Reykjavik where the trip ends.
