Final day in Oaxaca. Evening board overnight public bus to San Cristobal de las Casas.
Arrive into the highland colonial town. Leader-led orientation walk. Free afternoon for cafes and colourful streets.
Free day. Optional daytrips to archaeological sites, cenotes or local Maya villages.
Travel through the Chiapas jungle to Palenque. Free evening.
Visit the Palenque Mayan ruins set among thick rainforest. Optional waterfalls & cenote excursions.
Travel to Campeche on the Gulf coast. Wander the UNESCO-listed pastel-coloured old town and sea wall.
Travel to Valladolid in the Yucatan. Explore the markets and sample regional Yucatecan food.
Dip into Yokdzonot Cenote — a sinkhole managed by a cooperative of local Maya women. Float beneath ancient tree roots. Home-cooked lunch in Piste.
Visit Chichen Itza — one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Continue to coastal Playa del Carmen. Optional snorkelling.
