Welcome to La Paz, the world's highest capital (3,650m). Your adventure begins with a group welcome meeting in the evening.
Free time to rest, acclimatise to the altitude and explore the buzzing streets of this Andean capital.
Guided orientation walk through La Paz including the famous Witches' Market (Mercado de las Brujas), indigenous culture, and historic Plaza Murillo.
In the evening, board the overnight bus to Uyuni (approx. 10 hours).
Arrive Uyuni and begin the three-day 4WD adventure. Visit the iconic Train Cemetery, then drive out onto the world's largest salt flat — Salar de Uyuni (10,582 km²).
Visit Incahuasi Island, a coral-like outcrop covered in giant cacti, and enjoy the legendary perspective-bending photo opportunities on the endless white plains.
Full day 4WD drive across the surreal high-altitude desert. Stop at coloured lagoons, see flamingos, llamas and Andean foxes.
Reach Laguna Colorada — a blood-red lake coloured by algae, rimmed with white borax deposits. Overnight in basic refugio accommodation in the desert.
Early morning drive past geysers and steaming fumaroles, then an optional dip in natural thermal baths.
Cross the border at 4,500m into Chile and descend to the oasis town of San Pedro de Atacama in the driest desert in the world.
Free day to explore. Optional activities include sandboarding in Valle de la Muerte, a Moon Valley sunset tour, hot-spring pools and horse riding.
At night, consider an astronomy tour — the Atacama has some of the clearest night skies on Earth.
Another free day in San Pedro. Explore the whitewashed adobe streets, the archaeological museum, or venture further afield to the Tatio Geysers, altiplano lagoons and salt canyons.
Long travel day by coach crossing the Andes into Argentina. The drive winds through the dramatic Quebrada de Humahuaca past multi-coloured rock formations.
Arrive in colonial Salta and enjoy an evening orientation walk.
Free day in Salta. Options include a gondola ride up Cerro San Bernardo for panoramic city views, wine tasting with local Torrontés, or a day trip to Cafayate.
Morning flight from Salta to Buenos Aires (included). Transfer to your hotel in the heart of the Argentine capital.
Free evening — consider a traditional tango show or a parrilla dinner of world-famous Argentine steak.
Included orientation walk through the cobbled streets of San Telmo, the colourful La Boca neighbourhood and Recoleta Cemetery, resting place of Eva Perón.
Free afternoon and evening to enjoy the city's legendary nightlife and cafés.
Trip ends in Buenos Aires after breakfast. Free departure any time — extend your stay, fly to Iguazú Falls, or head home with memories of salt flats, deserts and tango.
