Discover Morocco in all its colour and contrast on this 12-day adventure from Casablanca to Marrakech. Wander the labyrinthine medinas of Fes and Marrakech, spend a night under Saharan stars after a sunset camel ride in Merzouga, and lose yourself in the blue-washed streets of Chefchaouen. Cross the High Atlas mountains at 2,260m, explore the ancient kasbah of Ait Benhaddou — a filming location for Gladiator and Game of Thrones — and share tea with a women's cooperative in the Dades Valley. Morocco at its most essential.
Arrive in Casablanca and settle in. Your tour leader will host a welcome meeting at 6:00pm to run through the adventure ahead. The rest of the day is free to explore at your own pace — stroll the corniche or wander the Art Deco city centre.

Optional morning visit to the breathtaking Hassan II Mosque (one of the world's largest). Take a local train to Meknes, then transfer to the sacred hilltop town of Moulay Idriss. Spend the night with a local Moroccan family for a genuine homestay experience, complete with a traditional mint tea demonstration.

Guided tour of Volubilis — Morocco's best-preserved Roman ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with extraordinary mosaics and marble columns. Then transfer north to the magical blue city of Chefchaouen, draped across the slopes of the Rif Mountains.

A full free day in Chefchaouen to explore the labyrinthine blue-and-white medina at your own pace. Optional activities include the Akchour Waterfalls hike, hammam, henna tattoos, or simply getting lost in the photogenic alleyways and rooftop cafes.

Five-hour scenic drive south to Fes, Morocco's oldest imperial city and spiritual capital. Arrive in the early afternoon with free time to start your exploration of the ancient medina — the largest car-free urban area in the world.

Guided morning walking tour of the Fes el-Bali medina with a local expert. Visit the famous Chouara leather tanneries, the exquisite Medersa Bou Inania (14th-century theological college), and a traditional ceramic factory. Free afternoon to explore the souks and alleyways at your own pace.

A big travel day (~10 hours) through dramatic desert landscapes to reach Merzouga on the edge of the Sahara. As the sun drops, mount your camel for a sunset ride into the towering Erg Chebbi dunes. Spend the night under a sky packed with stars at a traditional desert camp.

Wake before dawn to watch the sunrise over the sand dunes. Travel west through the lush Ziz Valley and the dramatic Todra Gorge — 300m-high cliff walls carved by the river. Optional gorge hike for those keen to stretch their legs. Overnight in the beautiful Dades Valley.

Drive the legendary Road of 1000 Kasbahs through the Draa Valley (~7 hours), stopping at the Tawesna teahouse — a women's cooperative supporting female economic empowerment. Arrive at the iconic Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed medieval mud-brick fortress town that served as a backdrop for Gladiator, Game of Thrones and The Mummy. Climb the fortress for panoramic views over the valley.

Cross the dramatic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass at 2,260m elevation (~6 hours), with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and Berber villages clinging to the hillsides. Descend to the rose-red city of Marrakech. Evening free to explore the electrifying Djemaa el-Fna Square — acrobats, snake charmers and the world's greatest open-air kitchen.

Guided morning walking tour of Marrakech's souks and medina with a local expert. Explore the Bahia Palace, the Mellah (Jewish quarter), spice markets and artisan workshops.
