Bus from Cusco to Cachora (3,600m). Trek down into the Apurimac Canyon to Chiquisqa camp (1,900m). Dramatic canyon views and condor sightings.
Cross the Apurimac River and ascend steeply to Choquequirao ruins (3,033m). Explore the ancient Inca hillside citadel with guided tour.
Morning free to explore more of the ruins. Trek back down to the river and up to Chiquisqa or Marampata camp.
Final ascent back to Cachora. Bus transfer to Cusco arriving late afternoon.
